RYAN "R.W. PRODUCTION" (VIDEOGRAPHER)
1.) Tell us about yourself and your childhood?
My name is Ryan Whitten and I grew up in Ankeny Iowa. I grew up playing basketball any chance I got. I transferred to Grandview Park Baptist my Sophmore year to play basketball. I have worked for Wells Fargo for over 10 years now, but my passion is videography.
2.) Tell us about a challenging time in your life and what lessons you learned from it?
Last year I tried to start my own videography business. Unfortunately, I was unable to see it through. I was in a situation where I didn't know if I was going to continue with videography. I have a 9-5 job, so I didn't have to continue with videography. I had enough people reach out to me asking if I could do a video for them, and that led to me having to rent equipment to many times. I broke down and bought a new camera, and started a new facebook page R.W. Production, and here we are.
3.) What motivates you to follow and pursue your passion?
Its a passion, so it's not hard to motivate me. I want to continue to pursue my passion because I love creating a story out of a video, the feedback that I receive from my friends to my clients whether that feedback is positive or negative.
4.) What advice would you give to the new up and coming artist?
"Be You, Be Classic"
5.) Have you or how do you contribute to the community?
Through Wells Fargo, I have donated a lot of my time to Habitat For Humanity.
6.) Who do you look up to besides your parents?
Besides my lovely parents....
I look up to entrepreneurs who have the passion and really put in the time to make it happen. I also look up to my favorite motivational speaker/entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk. because his mindset is based on work ethic, and working hard, and being true to yourself. Everything else will fall in place.
7.) What are your goals for the next 5 years?
My five-year plan is to continue mastering my craft of videography/photography, and have enough clients to maintain R.W. Productions. I also want to have my condo finished and ready to rent out, and I will be able to have the freedom to move anywhere.
8.) What is your motto in life?
EXPERIENCE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! :-)
9.) How did you find out about Made4Mankind Clothing?
I found out about Made4Mankind Clothing through Anthony San, that was about 3 to 4 years ago. We did a video of A-San breakdancing while wearing Made4Mankind Hat. Aaron, the co-owner of Made4Mankind Clothing, reached out to me and wanted to collaborate. We then produced the first Made4Mankind promo video. (Click here to watch the video)
10.) What do you know about Made4Mankind Clothing?
I know everything about Made4Mankind... I know that Made4mankind Clothing is more than a clothing store. "Made4Mankind is a Lifestyle". Aaron and MJ are two of the most genuine people I have met. Their involvement in the community has become a large part of who they are, and their drive to bring the community together is evident.
